Dr. Satinder Sartaj (born 31 August 1982), born as Satinder Pal Singh Saini in a Punjabi Saini family, is an Indian Punjabi singer, song writer, actor and poet. He has sung many Sufi songs.[1][2] He gained fame with his hit song 'Sai'. Since then his popularity has seen a constant surge among the Punjabi diaspora with his shows being held in many countries across the world.[3] He is considered as a scholar of Gurmukhi language, Punjabi culture, traditions and folk. He made his film debut as Maharaja Duleep Singh in The Black Prince in 2017.
Sartaaj was born into a Sikh family in the village Bajrawar, Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India. How to write accents with alt. He attended school at the government elementary school in his village. While in 3rd grade, he began performing. Sartaaj married his wife, Gauri, on 9 December 2010 at the Taj Hotel in Chandigarh.[4]
While most folk singers and movie singers in India are not known for their educational qualifications, Sartaaj has obtained a honors degree in Music from Government College[5], Hoshiarpur. He concentrated on his sufiana musical career completing his M. Phil in Sufi music singing and later a PhD in Sufi singing (gayan) from Punjab University, Chandigarh.[6] He also taught music at Punjab University for six years. Satinder also completed a certificate course and Diploma in Persian language.[1] He started writing poetry and adopted his Takhallus, Sartaaj while at college.[7]
Sartaaj started performing majlis (singing in front of small gatherings) in Punjab in 1999.[8] He appeared on Zee TV's Antakshari show, a popular Indian musical show hosted by Annu Kapoor, performing in the folk category and won appreciation. He was a first runner-up in the 24th All-India Light Vocal Festival and a topper in the Punjab Heritage Foundation Competitions. On 2 May 2014, Sartaaj performed in the Royal Albert Hall.[9]He debuted in the American film industry with the lead role in movie The Black Prince, a historic biopic of Maharajah Duleep Singh which was released on 21 July 2017.[10]
Although he has taught at university and is an accomplished bhangra performer, musician, composer and singer, Sartaaj has said that he considers shayari (poetry, specifically the Punjabi/Mughal style of poetry) as his first love.[11]
He says his second love is old building architecture. In several interviews he has also acknowledged a deep interest in nature, developed as a result of growing up on a farm in the village where his father was sarpanch.

Sartaaj has repeatedly stated that he does not aim for commercial success, although often conceding that during concerts he has to bow to the desires of the audience who want to hear older songs rather than the newer songs he wishes to establish.

Once he starts MEHFIL, everyone gets glued to their seats. Satinder Sartaaj born at village Bajrawar, distt. Hoshiarpur (Punjab eastern). Living in the sleepy village as a child Satinder hooked to the melody emanating from the Flute and Sarangi of the wandering folk artists. Telling about his Schooling from his own village and nearby villages Chabbewal & Patti, he says “I started performing at the Bal-Sabhas when I was in Class 3rd and this marked the beginning of my journey!” After that he join graduation at Govt. college, Hoshiarpur with Music Honours. Side by side he join Sangeet Visharad, a five year diploma in classical music from Jallandhar. After completing his Graduation and Diploma Satinder went to Panjab University Campus at Chandigarh for Masters in Music. With blessing of Parents he done M.Phil. and Ph.D. with the Specialisation of Sufi Music. To understand the deep thoughts of Sufi Poetry Satinder done the Certificate Course and Diploma in Persian (Farsi) Language. During this time he started writing Poetry and make his poetic name (Tkhallus) SARTAAJ. Now Dr. Satinder Sartaaj is Teaching at the Deptt. of Music, Panjab University Chandigarh from last six years. Sartaaj says that “Sufi Music connects me with God, insisting that of late he has developed a passion for Poetry but nowdays it’s more of Poetry than anything else.” An ardent lover of nature,Sartaaj has dedicated several of his compositions to Nature because from the beginning he was drawn the beauty and fragrance of flowers, rainbows, tranquil flow of the water creating rhythmic pattern. Though too young to analyze the innate pleasure derived from the natural phenomena,his yeaning to delve deep into the creations gave birth to religious and sufiana thoughts in his young mind which later made an impact on his career choice. Gifted with the mellifluous voice and a remarkable range in all octaves Sartaaj following the dictates of his inner soul, he choose to revel the glory of Mysticism. Sartaaj is already a name to reckon with in his field. He recalls a occasion when the prolonged applause from music lovers from 32 countries greeted the young Punjabi at Dubai International Cultural Festival when he was crowned with Best Sufi Singer Award, living up to the meaning of his name Sartaaj, the Supreme. Sartaaj has a glaxy of achievements like featuring in a documentary on the life of Sayyad Waris Shah on Zee Punjabi in 2003. He also was a Guest Artist in Zee Antakshri show with Anu Kapoor. He is Winner of a Scholorship in Sufi Music from the Dept. of Culture,Govt.of India. He was First runner-up in the 24th All-India Light Vocal competition. He won the title of Punjab Heritage Foundation,Patiala. He received many letters from various Institutions, Colleges and Universities to Judge the Music competitions. Recently Satinder Sartaaj has Crowned with The Youth Icon Award from Rotaract Club Chandigarh.

Satinder Satti is an Indian television anchor, actress, poet, dancer, singer, and former Punjab Arts Council chairperson.[1][2] She has won accolades for her performances as a popular television host.[3]
Satinder Satti did her graduation from RR Bawa DAV College, Batala and then master's degree in law from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Starting as anchor at Guru Nanak Dev University Youth Festivals Satinder Satti went on to anchor shows on Doordarshan, Alpha Punjabi, E.T.C. and PTC channels. Satinder Satti has also performed many shows and events to raise funds for needy people in Punjab.[4] She has two music albums to her credit Moh and Peeng.

Jatinder Shah is an Indian music composer[1][2][3] He is primarily recognized for his compositions in Punjabi music and film industry. He has also composed for many Hindi films like Second Hand Husband and Dilliwali Zaalim Girlfriend.[4] His works are notable for integrating pop, and Sufi music with modern music sounds, world music genres and traditional music. In August 2015, he performed live at MTV Coke Studio along with Gurdas Maan and Diljit Dosanjh on the song 'Ki Banu Duniya Da' which was widely appreciated allover the world.[5]
